Paris Is Most Beautiful In The Rain

.

If you’ve seen Woody Allen’s movie ‘Midnight in Paris’, then you’d know what I’m talking about.

Paris is really most beautiful in the rain, especially at midnight  🙂

.

& I believe everyone would agree when I say that

Paris is truly the most romantic city.

.

City of Lights.

City of Love.

City of Romance.

.

.

.

We braved the cold & walked from our hotel to the Eiffel Tower.

It took us about 15-20 minutes. It was the coldest summer I experienced.

It was windy & drizzling at the same time. Brr…

.

.

.

My view from under the Eiffel Tower :).

A sweet couple kissing right there in the middle  oblivious of all the tourists around them.

The building at the back is the Ecole Militaire.

.

.

.

Pretty romantic, don’t you think?

.

.

.

View of the Eiffel Tower from Trocadero (Palais de Chaillot).

Every hour the Eiffel Tower would be covered with blinking lights. This would last for about 5 minutes.

.

.

.

Walked all the way from the Eiffel Tower to Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

Place Charles de Gaulle (historically known as Place de l’Etoile) is a large road junction where 12 avenues meet,

including Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

.

.

I noticed that it’s not uncommon to see couples kissing on the streets of Paris 🙂

It must be something in the air… Perhaps, love is in the air?

.

.

.

Avenue des Champs-Élysées at Midnight 🙂

Described as “the most beautiful avenue in the world” or “La plus belle avenue du monde” in french.

.

.

.

Arc de Triomphe.

(Triumphal Arch).

The Arc de Triomphe commemorates those who fought and died for France.

.

.

.

Taking a stroll at Avenue des Champs-Élysées at midnight.

.

.

By this time it started to rain.

& I would have to agree, Paris is most beautiful in the rain.

.

We didn’t think we’d be able to walk all the way back to the hotel so we took a cab.

We hired the coolest cab driver. He has a ton of books in the front seat which he reads in between passengers.

.

(I love books & anyone who loves to read books instantly earns my respect. He also reminds me of the 1995 movie ‘Sabrina’.
Sabrina’s father who is a chauffeur also loves to read books & she told him that she loved him the most for his love of reading 🙂 )
.

On the way, he would point out famous landmarks to us.

He even told us that he knows how to greet in Filipino, because he read it somewhere.

He then happily said  ‘Mabuhay’  🙂

.

.

A perfect background music would be La Vie En Rose, I suggest you listen to it while watching this video 🙂

Enjoy!
